Terms of Use

Using VocabularEz, your vocabulary and downloaded dictionary and sentence data.

In effect since 25 October 2026

Provider and app license

VocabularEz is provided by Nikolay Ukolov, as identified on the App Store. Contact [email protected] for app or privacy questions.

Use of the app is subject to the license terms shown by Apple when you download it. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies where no custom license is supplied. This page explains app features and third-party materials; it does not remove mandatory consumer rights.

Your vocabulary

You retain your rights in the original vocabulary and notes you enter. The developer claims no ownership of your personal entries. Only add or share material that you have the right to use.

Keep independent copies of information that matters to you. Synchronization can be delayed, and a CSV export is not a complete backup of your learning history. The privacy policy describes storage, deletion and retained copies.

Learning and dictionary results

Practice estimates help select exercises; they are not a certification of proficiency or a guaranteed learning outcome. Speaking exercises use your own assessment, not automatic pronunciation grading.

Dictionary entries can be incomplete, ambiguous or incorrect. Directions are separate datasets: a translation in one direction does not guarantee an equivalent entry in the reverse direction. Check important translations against an appropriate source. Download availability and system voices can change.

Dictionary data and attribution

Offline dictionary data is provided by WikDict from Wiktionary through DBnary, under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. VocabularEz prepares a local search index and may select and normalize fields for display; it does not claim ownership of the source dictionary data.

Retain appropriate attribution and follow the license when sharing or adapting that data. These data terms do not place the VocabularEz app code, branding or your original notes under that license. The app also includes an offline dictionary notice.

Example sentences and attribution

Example sentence text and translations come from Tatoeba contributors under Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 France (CC BY 2.0 FR). The app keeps the source text and translation unchanged and retains both contributors' names and original sentence links with each saved example. These credits remain available after removing the downloaded pack. No Tatoeba audio is downloaded.

Matching looks for the word and its translation literally in a sentence pair. A match does not establish that the example fits your intended meaning. Sentence examples are not used in scored practice in version 2.1.1. The sentence license applies to the identified source text, not the app code, branding or your original notes.

Other notices and availability

The learning equations adapt FSRS-6 from Open Spaced Repetition's ts-fsrs under the MIT license. The app includes the required license notice. Flag artwork comes from Lina's World Flags by Continents collection under CC BY 4.0, displayed with app-specific scaling, corners and outlines. The app retains that attribution too. These licenses apply to the identified components; they do not make the whole app or its repository open source.

Apple manages downloads and any applicable purchase or refund terms. Nothing on this page excludes rights or remedies that applicable law requires. Check the support page for available features and troubleshooting.
